CA Chinese 2017 – Gold Starlight Gala (the “Gold Starlight Gala”) - a charity gala evening founded and organized by China Gold International Resources Corp. Ltd (“China Gold” or the “Company”), was successfully held on December 6, 2017 at the Terminal City Club in Vancouver, BC. As a Canadian-based, dual-listed company, and the only overseas listing vehicle of Chinese state-owned enterprise, China National Gold Group Co., Ltd, China Gold prioritizes its commitment to corporate social responsibility (“CSR”). This year, China Gold continued to support cancer prevention by financially sponsoring VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation, specifically the “Hematology Research Program” and the “Pancreas Centre BC”. In addition to the foregoing, China Gold extended the scope of its CSR initiatives to include environmental protection during mining operations through its support of two ongoing research projects – the first entitled “Treatment of Effluents from Artisanal Gold Mining and Investigation in the Bioavailability of Mercury Cyanide” led by University of British Columbia professors, Dr. Veiga and Dr. Marshall; and the second entitled “Arsenic release from arsenic-bearing minerals” being conducted in partnership with Professor Liu of the University of British Columbia, materials engineering department.
China Gold’s continuous contribution to society and its focus on environmental protection through minimizing the negative impacts of mining has received high recognition and appreciation from the Canadian mainstream society and diplomatic envoys of China in Canada. Ms. Xiaoling Tong, the new Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Vancouver and Mr. Shanjun Yu, Consul, Chief of Economic & Commercial Office of the Chinese Consulate General in Vancouver, together with their esteemed colleagues, attended the Gold Starlight Gala. The Company received congratulatory letters from the municipal, provincial and federal levels of the Canadian government. During the Starlight Gold Gala, China Gold commemorated each of the Company’s CSR initiatives by signing collaboration agreements, witnessed by the Consul General, Chief of Economic & Commercial Office of the Chinese Consulate General in Vancouver, and the Company’s independent directors. All parties expressed high recognition of China Gold’s efforts in Corporate Social Responsibility.
