September 23, 2012 - China Gold International was invited by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada to a reception of bilateral talks between Ministers of Canada and China.

The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway and his counterpart, Chinese Minister of Commerce Chen Deming, had a bilateral talks and a reception on Sunday, September 23. In the event, Minister Fast and Minister Chen discussed Canada and China's strong and growing trade and investment relationship, as well as next steps to further strengthen those ties.

China Gold International was invited by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada to join the event. Jerry Xie, Executive Vice President, met with two ministers and Minister Chen pointed out that 'It is now a good time for gold, China National Gold Corporation should seize this opportunity and develop quickly'.

A comprehensive discussion took place on best practices for Chinese mining companies investing in Canada's natural resource space. Specific topics included labour, royalties, First Nation relations and permitting.

February 22, 2012 - CGG VP, Jerry Xie spoke to the Dawa Business Group along with The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, who was in Vancouver highlighting the recent accomplishments of his visit to China, which was led by Prime Minister Stephen Harper. The Honourable Alice Wong, Minister of State (Seniors), and Wai Young, Member of Parliament for Vancouver South, also attended the event.

 

"I have just returned from an extremely successful trade mission to China," said Minister Fast. "The agreements reached on this highly productive mission will take the Canada-China trade and economic relationship to the next level, as well as create jobs and prosperity for hardworking Canadians here at home."

During the visit to China, Prime Minister Harper and China's Premier Wen Jiabao witnessed the signing of new joint initiatives between the two countries, as well as the renewal of existing ones, in the areas of energy, the sustainable development of natural resources, education, science and technology, and agriculture....
