Peter Meredith Joins Jinshan's Board of Directors

Vancouver, Canada --- Jinshan Gold Mines announced today that Peter Meredith was elected to the company's Board of Directors at Jinshan's Annual General Meeting yesterday.

Mr. Meredith, a Canadian Chartered Accountant, was recently appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Ivanhoe Mines, a Canadian mining company that owns a 38.7% interest in Jinshan. Mr. Meredith joined Ivanhoe Mines from Ivanhoe Capital Corporation, a private, Singapore-based company that specializes in venture capital and project financing. During Mr. Meredith's tenure with Ivanhoe Capital, associated companies, including Ivanhoe Mines, Ivanhoe Energy and Ivanhoe Nickel and Platinum (formerly African Minerals), raised more than US$450 million on international capital markets to advance their respective business interests. 

Prior to joining the Ivanhoe group of companies in 1996, Mr. Meredith spent 30 years with the accounting firm Deloitte & Touche LLP.

Jinshan Gold Mines is a Canadian company focused on the exploration and development of precious and base metals (gold, copper and platinum group metals) in the People's Republic of China. 

Jinshan shares are listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol JIN.
